Mail Was Source For ID Theft Personal Information

Amy L. Edwards reported today in the Orlando Sentinel that a Jeri Lynn Caruthers was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of having stolen mail as part of an identity-theft ring to obtain personal information. The stolen information included the bank account numbers of more than 20 victims over a six month period which were used to open credit-card accounts and create fake checks.
