New Identity Theft Scam Targets Veterans

Scammers prey on veterans who fear identity theft - Katu.com

With the theft earlier this year of a laptop computer that contained the personal information of millions of veterans, many became fearful that their personal information may have been compromised. While the computer in question has been recovered and it appears that the personal information was not accessed by the thieves, a new group of con artists is targeting veterans using a telephone scam that tells them to call a 1-900 number that costs the vet a $9.99 per minute charge!
