One More Identity Theft Ring Busted
Kansas City TV Station 9, KMBC-TV, reported that a large Identity Theft Ring was busted by federal authorities Tuesday, August 22, after a long investigation with 16 people taken into custody. "Investigators said the case started with identity theft, but it spread
into mortgage fraud, money laundering and possibly drug trafficking all
over the country." Although the crime ring was based in Kansas CIty, the crimes themselves stretched out across the country.
