New Identity Theft Scam Targets Veterans

Scammers prey on veterans who fear identity theft - Katu.com

With the theft earlier this year of a laptop computer that contained the personal information of millions of veterans, many became fearful that their personal information may have been compromised. While the computer in question has been recovered and it appears that the personal information was not accessed by the thieves, a new group of con artists is targeting veterans using a telephone scam that tells them to call a 1-900 number that costs the vet a $9.99 per minute charge! Fashion Model Used Victims Credit Card Numbers To Order Items in Identity Theft Case

Fashion Model Sentenced In Identity Theft Case - NBC4.TV

Waitress Asks for ID and Gets Own Stolen License Back!

MSNBC reports today that a waitress in Westlake, OH asked a women for an ID to prove she was 21 and received her own license that had been stolen several months earlier! Very interesting! As it turns out, the women who provided her the stolen license also had in her possession a stolen credit card. She has been arrested on the charge of identity theft. You can read the full story at:
